Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We didn't. But that was because we were saving room for three or more desserts.
  2. There has been no one able to answer this question from their experience yet on these boards. We know that the ships that do the $5 surcharge for an extra entree have been enforcing that. But, we do not know if they charge $5 for each additional entree. We don't know if one orders three entries if the fee is $10 or $5. The way it's worded could mean it's $5 inclusive of as many extra entrees or $5 for each extra entree. If you find out, please report back.
  3. On the Meraviglia from New York, we often ordered a pasta as a "starter." We always received the full dinner size and exact type including meat or seafood each time and were never charged the extra entree fee. The lasagna was huge and delicious. The Meraviglia menus do not have a "primo" section. It is called "starters."
  4. They do that if there is more demand for the cheaper inside rooms. Now they can sell your old room.
  5. Consensus is still out as to whether the charge is for each additional entree or if the $5 charge covers any additional entrees after the first. The wording isn't specific, and so far no one here has reported personal experience with this. Also keep in mind that there is always a pasta or risotto dish as a main each night, and the always available section of the menu has some main pastas. You can order any of that (and/or presumably the main salad offering) as a starter for no additional charge. I think maybe one person here had a problem doing that. But if that happened to me, I would escalate the request, as pasta is a whole different course than a main in traditional Italian dining, and I am guessing that person's waiter was confused. They will almost certainly bring a main sized portion BTW.
  6. I suggest you also post on the Royal board so you can get an idea of what people with similar tastes as you think about NCL.
  7. That room looks awesome. I hope you are not upset that the tub will prevent the intimate relationship you could have had with the shower curtain. I'm a bit scared for you with regards to the bed. The woman in the video said it's a princess bed and one thing I do remember about my last princess cruise many years ago was how hard the bed was. I hope you can report that has changed because that has been a big reason we stopped considering princess. I bet if you ask your room steward for a lounge, they will accommodate you lol.
  8. The flight was not cancelled or delayed, the airline did not make a schedule change with the flight, and no one was involuntarily denied boarding. NCL changing a person's flight doesn't have anything to do with those situations. That being said, OP maybe try calling the airline and requesting a refund or credit. Of course they don't have to do anything. But, maybe they will surprise you.
  9. FYI if you have previously cruised with NCL, the do not call list means nothing. If you have done business with a company, the regulations regarding the do not call list do not apply. Your best bet is to do as other posters have said and not be logged in while shopping.
  10. The I'm free to do what I want song by Pitbull is not the same song from the older I want to break free ad. I want to break free is originally by Queen. I don't know if the version in the ad is a remake or if dead men who sing no songs can indeed sell rights to songs.
  11. With regards to tipping, a daily service charge will be automatically applied to each person's account every day of the cruise (unless you pre pay it). Also, any services you buy like drinks, spa, or specialty dining will have a 20% gratuity automatically applied. The daily fee covers room stewards, dining staff and behind the scenes staff. You are free to tip extra if you want, and can do so in cash or when buying a service by adding any additional amount to the receipt you will be signing. The daily charge does not cover Haven butlers or concierge and does not cover camp counselors.
  12. It's a check in time, not embarkation time actually. In Brooklyn, they do not pay attention to what has been assigned. Your assigned time will also probably randomly change between now and your cruise.
  13. It has to do with the timing of Easter and Passover. Most schools had Thursday and Friday before easter off and then have Passover week off.
  14. So many views, yet no replies...I'll tell you why no one has answered. It's because no one wants to tell you that they really hope you won't even consider bringing your guitar (bag pipes, accordion, kazoo, violin.....and certainly not your child's recorder even though the music teacher says they have to practice) because as talented as you probably are, no one wants to hear you play. If you play on your balcony, your neighbors will be disturbed. And even though it's acoustic, the cabin walls are still thin, so again, your neighbors will be disturbed. There really is no place for you to play it, so it's advisable that you leave it at home.
