  1. Good morning to all, Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for all your efforts in keeping this thread alive. Interesting Days, but not sure what to think about the quote. I have read Gone With the Wind and have seen the movie a number of times. I have also visited Margaret Mitchell’s house in Atlanta. I will pass on the meal and drink. The wine, while probably delicious, is a bit above my budget. Prayers for all on the Cares List and Cheers to those on the Celebration list and those cruising. I have been to Marseille twice. The first time I took the small trolly train up to the cathedral. The second time was May 1, 2022, right after Jim and I were quarantine from having Covid. Everything was closed that day. i ended up walking around for a while in the port area, got very tired and then returned to the ship. I hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  2. Good morning all, Happy Thursday. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Tina, Ann, Dixie and Graham for your contributions that keep this thread alive. The days are interesting, however we will pass on the food and drink, but will wait to see what the wine description is before passing judgment. I have seen the quote before and totally agree with it. Prayers for all on the cares list and cheers for those celebrating and cruising. I have been to Montevideo. We had a very nice tour of the town followed by a wine tour at the Varela Zaranz winery with lunch. It was very nice. We bought some wine and brought it back to the ship and was able to use it at dinner. This was before HAL began instituting their stricter wine policy. We kept one case to take home. That was easy since we disembarked in Fort Lauderdale and our car was waiting for us. There is not much on the agenda today. It i quiet and calm. Hopefully things stay that way. I will attend a support group this afternoon. I have only gone to two prior meetings. Not sure how helpful they are but will continue for the time being. I am in the process of weaning off the Prednisone and so far I have not had another flare-up of the PMR. For this I am grateful. Unfortunately, I still have continual pain in my right shoulder from the rotator cuff tear. I have not been able to move up the appointment with the orthopedist so I continue to wait until May 28 for that. It is not easy to try to do everything with only one arm. Thankfully DH is quite helpful when needed. Not much else to report. Hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  3. Good morning to all. Happy Wednesday, Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers for having the Daily and Fleet Report ready so bright and early today. Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the Maps and to Vanessa @JazzyV for the lists. I am so glad that you are sleeping well and seem to have conquered the pain in your leg. Thank you to Tina @0106 for the meal recipe, Ann @cat shepard for the wine write-up and to Dixie @summer slope for the drink recipe. And last, but not least, to Graham @grapau27 for the decryption of the days we celebrate. Interesting quote. I have been to Juneau, Alaska. It was the summer of 2007. It was the first HAL cruise we took, but not our first cruse. That was on the Home Lines back in 1986 to Bermuda, when I swore I would never go on another cruise. So much for swearing! I will pass on the meal, since somehow Pesto does not agree with my tummy. I like Cuba Libre and had many while I was a student in Ponce, Puerto Rico many moons ago. The wine sounds yummy, but above my budget. Jacqui @kazu Thnking of you today and sending virtual hugs. Terry @smitty34877 You and your family are always in my prayers. Annie @marshhawk Thinking of you and Chuck and hope you are both doing well. Maureen @RMLincoln I am sorry for the latest setback with your DH and hope it is temporary. Prayers for all on the Cares list. Hope I didn’t miss anyone. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. I am happy to report that all my communication equipment is up and running. The Hargray technician paid us a visit yesterday after another day of outage on Monday. I called and expressed my displeasure at their service yet again., This time they did something about it. So far all is working well. So we have a beautiful sunny day here in the Low Country of South Carolina. So far we are holding our own. Have a great day and as always, God Bless, Terri
  4. Well, hello everyone. After a day and a half of no TV, no internet, and no phone, I am back up and running. I had a visit from Hargray and new equipment installed. I am back up and running. Didn’t mean not to post, but just got on line. Hope everyone is well. I will read all the posts and hopefully had time to post later. Time to make dinner. Terri
  5. Good morning to all. Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers for taking over the Fleet Report and Daily for the next few weeks, Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the maps, Vanessa @JazzyV for the Cares and Celebrations list, to Tina @0106 for the recipe, to Ann @cat shepard for the wine explanation, and to Dixie @summer slope for the drink recipe. Thank you also to Graham @grapau27 for Father David’s sermon. We all appreciate your dedication to this thread. I am hoping that today is a quiet peaceful day. I was happy yesterday to see my house cleaner and now have sparkling house again. I am glad to have this back on schedule again. I do have a few loads of laundry to do and that will be dealt with over the next few days. DH is sorry he does not feel he can make the trip up to Virginia for the funeral. He just feels the ride is too long. I will include a note in the Mass card explaining our situation to his sons. Other than that we will just have a quiet Sunday at home. Have a great day everyone. God Bless, Terri
  6. Good afternoon, i too had trouble accessing Cruise Critic both on Safari and on Edge. So I gave up. I was surprised when I came back a little while ago and was able to get back on. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie and Tina for your contributions to the Daily and Fleet Report. I like the Days and the quote by Helen Keller. I have not been to the port,. I am glad to report that all is calm here. Trying to make some decisions for the future. Today Jim received news that a childhood friend passed away. He had Alzheimer’s. The wake and funeral is in Virginia (DC area) and he doesn’t feel up to making the trip, So the best we can do is send flowers and a card to his sons. His wife passed in 2017. Prayers for all on the Cares List and cheers to all celebrating and cruising. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. God Bless, Terri
  7. Good morning to all. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie for all you do to keep the Daily and Fleet Report going. Interesting Days to remember and the quote is funny. i will pass on the food and drink today and I have not been to the destination. Yesterday was a much better day for us and that made life around here much calmer. We needed that. We never got to Costco on Wednesday as planned so we will try to do that today. @RMLincoln Maureen, my condolences on the passing of your DSIL. Glad all went well with DH’s procedure yesterday. @smitty34877 Terry, prayers for you and Tana and your family. Glad you had some help with your NH family and some time visiting with them. @ger_77 prayers for your DH @JazzyV Vanessa, I am thrilled that you have pain relief after your surgery. @rafinmd Roy, looks like the medical report is trending in the right direction. A good thing. @grapau27 Graham, thanks for the explanation of our days to celebrate. Cheeers to all celebrating and cruising. Hoping all have a wonderful day. God Bless, Terri
  8. Good afternoon, Tried to post earlier but was unable to get connected. I will post more later but just want to give you an update on where we are I was able to finally get in touch with the doctor’s office today. We have an appointment for May 23. It was the earliest available. Better than Oct. 17. I was also able to speak to his nurse, who gave me her direct number for the future. I explained how I was trying to use the portal and that my messages had delivery failures after two days. After a week of this I was so frustrated that we ended up cancelling the trip. She told me the portal doesn’t work. Gee, what a surprise! I also told her that we were not sure how to administer the meds. She explained it all and I was satisfied with her answers. She was very nice and helpful. It is just too bad I couldn’’t connect with her sooner. Anyway, at present, DH is calm and does not need any of the meds. Only to be administered at the lowest possible dose when needed. So we are good to go on that. I am feeling better about the whole thing and doing better today. Thank you all for your advice and support. God Bless, Teri
  9. Thanks Debbie. I know. We did the best we could at the time. Thanks for your support. Terri
  10. I am not sure if it is the doctor or the staff member who relayed the message. I just know that this medicine is highly addictive and we have gotten no guidance on how to take it. I am not happy. I am going to try to get to the doctors office tomorrow and see if i can see him. There is only one other Neurologist in the area and most of his patients want to move to the one that Jim has. Not moving to another yet. Thanks for your support. Terri
  11. I have had a horrible day. Last Thursday I made a call to the Doctor to ask for some help since DH was having anxiety issues about going on the trip. i also sent a message through the portal. There was no response. I again made another call and no response. Then last evening at 5:40 there was a call from the pharmacy to pick up some meds. I didn’t know if it was for DH or me. Well it was anti-anxiety meds for him. No phone call, nada. Too little too late. I am livid. If the response had been timely, we might be on our way to Rome. Instead i am just so angry at the way things turned out and not let DH feel he is to blame. I have cancelled everything and maybe I jumped the gun by doing it so quickly. Thanks for letting me vent. Terri
