  1. Several years ago we cruised on Adventure with some friends. We had balcony cabins next to each other. One night they decided to leave their balcony door open so they could have fresh air and listen to the sound of the waves. In the middle of the night my wife and I woke up to screaming and other loud noises coming from our friends' stateroom. Apparently a bat had flown in through the open door. After a few minutes they were able to chase it back outside. Needless to say, the balcony door stayed closed for the rest of the cruise.
  2. The two biggest changes for me are the new way to do the muster drill and the 4 free Diamond drinks. The muster drill can be completed before even boarding the ship. Once on board, just stop by your muster station, they'll scan your Seapass and you'll be done. As odd as it may sound, I was never a big fan of the free drinks in the Diamond Lounge during Happy Hour. It was always crowded in there. With the new system, you can get your free drinks anywhere, anytime. for me, that's huge. Another change is that you will no longer be given your Seapass at check-in. Seapasses are now waiting for you in your stateroom or on your door. If you need your Seapass for things such as beverage purchases before the rooms are ready, you show them your Set Sail Pass or give them your cabin number
  3. A few people are "complaining" (tongue in cheek) that they never received a pin for various levels. If you truly want one, you can ask the LA on board. He/she will give you one, probably with no questions asked.
  4. I don't use the app so I can't speak on how that works. I use a PC and RCI's web site. We recently got back from a family cruise and our reservations were linked. When I logged into my account and it showed my cruises, all of the family reservations were visible to me and I could make changes to any of them. If you are having trouble seeing the other reservations in your group, maybe you need to add them to your list of cruises. Click on the "add a cruise" tab and then enter the information.
  5. Open the app now and see if you can see everyone's reservation. If you can see everyone's reservation now, you'll be able to make changes i.e. purchase excursions or drink packages etc. and you'll also be able to check everyone in.
  6. Using the points for a cruise discount is completely different from using the points for a room upgrade. The two transactions are handled very differently.
  7. Technically, you don't change status on the cruise because points are not awarded until after the cruise is completed. The exception to this I believe, is when you reach Pinnacle.
  8. An occasional comma or period would help those of us trying to read this.
  9. I have used credit card points for OBC on many cruises. I do it anywhere from 6-12 months in advance. The OBC usually posts to my account in 2 or 3 days. It actually showed up in less than 24hrs. once.
  10. I don't think (I can't remember for sure) it asks for reservation numbers but it will ask for names and stateroom numbers.
  11. We had a table for 12 on Adventure several years ago. It was impossible to hold a conversation. In hindsight we wish we had had 2 tables for 6.
  12. Are you and your wife using different cards to settle your onboard accounts? When we cruise, I enter a credit card for me and then say I am paying for my wife's account also. I put all of the OBC in my name since I am the one paying for both of us. If you and your wife will be setting up separate accounts, you can use the share option so that you both have some OBC to use.
  13. You can have it dedicated to just you or you can share with anyone you want. Your cabinmate, somebody in another cabin, anyone. You'll need their name and cabin number but I don't think you need their reservation number. I always have it just me. Technically, it's also shared with my wife because I pay her onboard account.
  14. To each their own. ^^^This^^^. The 3rd party tour companies know the cruise ship schedules. Their reputation and future business depend on them being reliable.
  15. Yes, they can. Once the points are redeemed, they now become cash. If you have to cancel, they will not go back on your card as points but they WILL go back as cash.
