  1. That has not been our experience, on any of our YC cruises. We've specifically asked if we needed to stick around and have been shooed out, told nope not a problem, etc. We've always taken off and come back to a well organized fully unpacked cabin..it's delightful. We do not have valuables in our luggage - those are in the safe immediately upon arrival to the room .
  2. The only discount I've seen on Princess, in more than 20 years of cruising with them, was the old coupon book that had a buy one get one half off for embarkation night at a specialty restaurant. (Or was it buy one get one free? It's been a lot of years since the coupon book itself was an offer. The email coupons - enough said, lol). Princess doesn't have dining packages or sales on their specialty dining options like other lines. Yet. They've been making so many changes in the last 2 years, I wouldn't be surprised to see something along either of those options show up eventually.. Fortunately, Princess specialty dining is still somewhat less expensive than other lines ; but not as much as it was even a year or so ago. And the new pricing on Sun doesn't bode well either . ($45 across the board instead of $35/39).
  3. It varies. Itinerary, ship, time of year, how many may have booked Premier Cruise Package, etc all play a role. My last Caribbean Princess sailing, late 2024, couldn't get into Sabatini's for live or money - although empty tables were there any time I checked, and I checked several times every night.. Generally speaking, they do hold some skits for booking aboard - but they may not be the times and dates you want..the only way to ensure that is to book in advance.. and no, you can't use your OBC in advance for specialty dining.. so, to book it, you have to pay at time of booking.. you could then have it reversed aboard, and it would be refunded to OBC. Kinda defeats the idea of using OBC to book specialty dining though...
  4. Vines Skywalkers Larger balconies like Caribe on Grand class Sofa and shower doors from Sun class aka Sphere class Window seat Oceanview from Sun Splash pad No charge adult only pool and deck space (Retreat, before they surrounded it with cabins like Sky and newer).
  5. Of course. You select all that in your dining set-up. Pick your date, pick private or shared, pick time..
  6. That's the same names and layouts as usual. Nothing has been changed... Their doing away with "Reserve" on Suna nd Star. All will be Sanctuary, with different inclusions (basically, lounge or not?. They'll all be Sanctuary though.. When they'll update the website and details on who gets to eat in which of these two venues - anyone's guess really...
  7. Glitch? Who knows.. you'll be able to add it later, have your TA add it, or buy it aboard. It's a flat $60/80usd per night Plus/Premium, however you book it..
  8. None of the cabins on Island Princess include a bundled Cruise Package. .it's an extra, regardless of what type of cabin. You can add the package at any time, up to and including embarkation day or the day after - at the same price in advance or onboard.. $60/80 Plus/Premier. Add it via app, via cruise personalizer, have your TA add it, buy it aboard.. up to you. Mini-suites don't have any perks to speak of. A glass of sparkling wine upon boarding. Don't let the name mini-suite "suite" fool you. They're not suites. They're just larger cabins than a balcony (although you're looking at the ones with no balcony, lol).. Has a sofa seating area, shower/tub combo, etc.
  9. We usually have them unpack for us (yes, it's a listed perk, yes they offer and yes, we take them up on it, and no - don't give a dang whether they see our unmentionables or not. Non-issue for us). Way better organized and put away than we would do ourselves. And we can go enjoy sailaway and come back to get changed for dinner, etc without any pause. Pizza delivery with two glasses of wine just about every night. Occasional other room service items, but not much. Escort to dinner when dining specialty and/or to the show.. went to dinner on our own in Divina last year and our butler actually came looking for us and seemed out out that we didn't take advantage of his escort services. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That's about it for us .. we're pretty easy..
  10. All or any of the above. Most men are generally in the dress pants, dressier type shirt and sport coat range, some suits and tuxes, more not. Ladies - much more in the dressy pants and top or maxi type dress with some bling, a few gowns and cocktail dresses mixed in, but not much.
  11. Correct. All Oceanview and above have full 3 person sodas..insides have a small (small!) ottoman.. Mini-suites on Sun do not have the bathtub/shower combo - lust much larger showers. No tub until you get to a suite (higher than an S9 category suite, that'l is, as the S9 suites are identical to a mini-suite aboard, just with the Suite perks). All cabins have large glass showers - larger than the "capsule" type on Celebrity and RCCL, etc. And balconies themselves are somewhat larger than in Royal class ships. But, the balcony furniture is a big downgrade, not all that comfortable overall. See photos for reference: Oceanview, deluxe balcony and Cabana mini-suite interior first, then bathroom, then balcony photos and furniture Keep in mind also, the Sun and Star have "copied" other lines in that every other cabin alternates bed by door, bed by window/balcony. The deck plan at the website tells you for each cabin... And a video of a deluxe Balcony cabin on Sun: https://www.youtube.com/live/4610z3OjSn0?si=rFWaPHwfuhVBd2I8
  12. What ships have had Alfredo's removed? That's news to me.. thanks . And Salty Dog Gastropub is one of my favorite casual venues. Go figure...
  13. FYI - Emerald doesn't have Deluxe Balcony cabins. She, and all ships prior to Royal, have Premium Balcony cabins. Deluxe Balcony cabin.is a category introduced on Royal Princess. It includes a small 2 seater sofa. And yes, a slightly larger shower than older ships. Small shelf/step area, which makes for a larger shower... No, Royal class ships and newer do not have the tiered/wedding cake sides like Grand/Gem class ships. So no, Caribe deck does not have the extra deep balconies all along the side. And, in fact, the standard balconies are actually smaller than Grand class ships.. Grand class runs 9x5 for standard balcony cabin balconies and 9x9 for those fab premium Caribe decks balconies. Royal class balconies - standard is approximately 9x4 feet deep. Definitely smaller. There are some exceptions - some of the far forward deck 8 obstructed views, aft facing, some mid ship area with the bump outs under the Sea walk and Seaview bar, a few random ones on 8... Sun Princess, the newest ship, has somewhat larger balconies, they look to be back to the 9x5 and the showers are much larger across the board - and all with glass shower doors... Oceanview and above all have a full size sofa, inside has a small ottoman. Good luck! Happy sails...
  14. Honestly - best "steakhouse" specialty dining I've had aboard any cruise line? Carnival. Absolutely fantastic. Ambiance, food, service, everything new Princess, RCCL and Celebrity out of the water (and - I was already Platinum, Elite And Diamond, respectively). The old Ocean Liner restaurants on Celebrity were among some of the very best specialty dining on ships. Central Park 150 was fantastic, at a price to match Otherwise, nah. Crown Grill/Sterling Steakhouse doesn't wow. It's good, no denying that - but yeah. It's good. Lol..
