From Ship to Cape Kennedy

Greetings. Looking for advice on private tour or how to travel independently to Cape Kennedy from ship. Don't want to book an excursion from the ship. Thanks in advance.

I'd rent a car from one of the many agencies in the port area that have free shuttles to the ship. We've used Avis many times with excellent results, but there are several others available. Hopefully the Captain will be along soon and post his excellent map of the area rental places.

the furthest is less than 2 miles away

all run shuttles

you want your rental location to be CAPE CANAVERAL or COCOA BEACH (Port Canaveral is not a 'city' and does not come up as a rental location)

It is important to share which ship and arrival time. And how many people in your party?

Some ships arrive at noon. Others at 1pm. For these late arrivals you have to think carefully about rental versus Uber.

If renting you will lose at least 30 minutes in transit each way (I've heard of much longer waits when several ships are in) and pay $10 for parking at KSC. With KSC closing at 6pm for many months you have to optimize every minute especially if you dock at 1pm .

Also consider the rental office will be closed when you return therefor you have to pay for a taxi or Uber back to the ship. All these little costs and transit times are adding up.
