geomagot Posted February 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2013 If you were to ask my daughter (age 15) for her review it would go something like this: a bottomless supply of bbq burgers & hot dogs...enough ketchup to last an entire lifetime no boiled cabbage more jelly & instant whip that you would ever care to look at free ice cream (You mean its free dad? As much as you could ever want? For nothing?.....Cool!) endless supply of fizzy dinks and (eversosweet) mocktails (run-amocktails) delivered and paid for by dad lifetime facebook friends made (mainly the showteam) gobsmaked that the crew were always smiling and fussing (even over her) making her daily paper flowers and a crown & sceptre?? (out of napkins!) (yes dear, you are clearly very special to them….'am I dad? Me?.... really?....am I?.... Cool!') all the beautiful spangly people wandering the corridors in their sparkly things and neat suits, and sometimes kilts, the ‘lush’ shoes (her words not mine)....the 'cool' staff crew in their pristine white uniforms and shiny buttons all the other teens....especially the ones wearing hoodys and onesies (with ears) and ugg boots!....super cool eh dad!....(err? yes...so it is dear?) the lights, the music, the dancers costumes, the glass & chrome, the chandeliers....the lifts?....the carpets?! the toilets?....gotta checkout the toilets...all the toilets? (why do they do this?....2 minutes from anywhere and it’s.....'weee wantthe toilet??...right now!!) the talented juggling cocktail waiters, the fantastic huge ice carving, the (freaky) towel animals, the even more freaky vegetable animals!....the list goes on (and on....) and all of this before we had even got off the ship to visit the fabulous beaches (except margarita island) and here's the one Q from DD that got me really thinkin? 'Just one thing tho dad?' 'What is it dear?' 'why is it on cruises that all the grown ups are so nice to each other??' thru the eyes of a child eh?;):)
Julessmiles Posted February 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2013 My two would say similar things although burgers & hot dogs :(, they prefer the Snails in Garlic, Mango soup & Lobster tails lol!!! Cruising with Thomson is such a great family holiday - certainly for older children; we never did it when they were younger. Great chance to spend real quality time together as a family, enjoying the fuss & being spoilt by the waiters & all the other friendly crew, chilling out by the pool after a great morning or day out visiting some superb places, having fun watching the excellent shows then up to one of the bars or entertainment lounges after. It's also nice to see them making new friends & having fun socialising with them. :):)
kalos Posted February 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2013 I suppose when walking along the deck of a ship, its easy to spot Geomagot's offspring with all that ketchup stuck to their faces from eating all those burgers :). On the other hand I bet you could spot Jules's kids pretty easily as well ;):D

Julessmiles Posted February 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Lol at Kalos! Don't think I'll show my daughter that. We'd never tried snails before we went on the Spirit ( never fancied them) My daughter decided to order them one night, I just couldn't face it until they arrived & she let me taste one - gorgeous!! The waiter came back with another plate for her as she enjoyed them so much!! My son loved the mango soup and they made it specially for him on 2 other nights as they knew he'd liked it so much. That is what is SO great about Thomson cruises, you get looked after so well, they cater for all tastes ( and the food is good!!!!)
Choirman PJ Posted February 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2013 We came back from a cruise on Dream two weeks ago. We had 4 grandchildren in our party of 10. The treatment they received was superb especially in the restaurant and "Kid's Zone". We had the same table for ten every night with eight chairs and two high chairs waiting for us. The head waiter served them each night and if they wanted something that wasn't on the menu, they go it made for them. Top marks also go to the Kid's Zone staff who even looked after the two 2 year olds even though they should be three to go there. This was the 4th time we have taken the older two and this is what happens every time. They remember fondly Angel from Destiny.

Jakanne1 Posted February 22, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Sorry to tell you the ice cream not free on the Majesty :(:( It's £1.20 a scoop  And in the early September heat it was horribly melted so I would not have eaten it if it was free!
