Royal Caribbean - Vision of the Seas -help?

Mother-in-law (80 years old) & daughter, embarking on this ship out of Tampa next week (April 4). looking for any tips, advice (money-saving or otherwise) that might make make their trip more enjoyable, fun. All replies appreciated!

To save money ashore, read a guidebook...get to know your ports, and do your own thing. Excursions are EXPENSIVE...and 99% of the time, totally unneeded!

Unless you're into soda and foo-foo coffees, what is served on the ship will suffice...you can deal with anything for a week! If you're big alcohol drinkers, consider a booze package....otherwise, just pay as you go.

You really don't NEED the spa stuff, or the photo packages...or any of the other crap they try to sell you! Make your budget, and stick to it!
