Alcohol on 7 Mile Beach?

We are considering just grabbing a taxi from the ship when we are in port in Grand Cayman in Oct 2015 and relaxing at 7 mile beach. Does anyone know if OK to drink alcohol on the beach (we will be discrete)?, the beach is public right?. Tried to see if we could get a day pass at a resort with no luck. (The Westin-no) and Mariott-no.

There are bars/restaurants on the beach...we had a beer while sitting at the bar. I don't recall seeing anyone with it ON the beach, but that doesn't meant it doesn't happen!

From what I remember it would be OK.

As long as you purchase said alcohol from the bar at the beach club (Royal Palms, Tiki Beach, Calico Jacks) you are relaxing at, then it's perfectly fine. You don't even need to be discreet... :-)
