jewlrybabe Posted February 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2016 I like Orient Beach down to the right near club Orient because the water is calmer and there is usually a breeze. Hubby of course (being a pilot) loves Maho. I almost passed out last time it was sooo hot and no breeze. Did I just get an off day or does Maho always feel like a frying pan?:o
navybankerteacher Posted February 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2016 The prevailing breezes on the island are generally from the north and east, meaning that, on most days, because Orient faces north and east, there will be a cooling breeze from over the water; while at Maho the breeze, if any, will have passed over the runway and will be noticeably warmer that at most other spots on the island. Karysa Posted February 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2016 You are right it is hotter than the other beaches on the island. The pavement on the runway and road, the steady stream of vehicles and heat from the engines at take off and the many, many people all crammed together all play a role in the temperature at Maho. Nashna Posted February 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2016 Thank you for the Maho beach breeze report. How about the conditions at Mullet Bay?
Karysa Posted February 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2016 Thank you for the Maho beach breeze report. How about the conditions at Mullet Bay? Mullet has a breeze. It's not as breezey as Orient or Dawn but its not as hot as Maho either. There's a golf course not an airport at Mullet so more grass and less pavement. They surf out at Mullet sometimes :)
Rare BillOh Posted February 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 12, 2016 I like Orient Beach down to the right near club Orient because the water is calmer and there is usually a breeze. Did I just get an off day or does Maho always feel like a frying pan?:o We love them both, but the north east end of the island does get more breeze. Buy lots of cold drinks and keep cooling off in the ocean. I love both places. (I see someone from my blocked list answered, I'm guessing that post was real helpful.
