Confused about Pacific Coast Ports Help?

Recommended Posts

We're booked on a Pacific Coast Cruise. We've been to most ports by car because we live in the Northwest. I'm trying to picture where cruise ships port in Astoria and Monterey. I'm assuming we tender in? Any help appreciated! (Sorry if I spelled anything incorrectly! ;-)

IIRC there is only room for one ship at the dock in Astoria. So if there is more than one ship in port on that day, as is frequently the case during the spring or fall repositioning, the others will have to tender. Been there, done that. :-)

At Monterey they anchor in the bay and tender you to Fisherman's Wharf. There is no pier. At the other end of the wharf is the start of the Monterey downtown area. You can also walk to Cannery Row _all shopping and restaurants and the Aquarium. About a 1/2 hour walk but very pleasant one.
