Freebythesea Posted February 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2017 We arrive in FLL on Saturday a.m. around 7 after an all night flight. We will be picking up a rental car and heading down to North Beach in Miami for a cruise the following day. Any recommendations for a breakfast place between FLL and N. Beach? Something that the locals love to go to. Funky, cool and inexpensive are just fine but also something that might be unique to the area (we are from Seattle). We are both gluten free so a bakery wouldn't work too well but good coffee is a must ;). Thank you in advance.
SharkCruiser24 Posted February 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Public House in Fort Lauderdale isn't far from the airport and they have an awesome brunch as do quite a few other restaurants within walking distance of there. Corby114 Posted February 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Grampas Bakery and Restaurant is a great place for a great breakfast. It's located five minutes south of FLL, just off of Federal Highway (US1). There's a large sign on the road on the southbound side. Great coffee, great pancakes, and great egg dishes. Place was featured years ago on Diners, Drive In's and Dives.

Take Federal Highway (US-1) from FLL to State Road 84/Marina Mile, turn left (west) and it will be about a half mile on your left. You won't be disappointed. From there just go west to I-95 and head south to Miami.
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Or get on I-95 South from FLL and head down to Hallandale Beach Blvd (exit 18) then east to Sage Deli! Real old fashion Jewish deli Been around for over 40 years. In a strip center with 5 guys just past Federal Highway Rte 1. Or wait til you hit Miami Beach and go to Big Pink on Collins! Has an outside patio right on the intercostal. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I second this absolutely...and if you want a great ice cream cone go down the highway to Dairy Belle...both of these are places we visit when ever given the opportunity.
