Getting from Havensight to Coki Beach.

Hi All!

It looks like our ship is going to be the only ship in St Thomas on the day we arrive, unless I am reading it wrong. I checked on Vinow. Anyways! This is mine and my fiance's first cruise. We have decided to go to Coki Beach, assuming it isn't going to be super crowded since we may be the only ship. Is it easy to get a taxi once we get off the ship to take us there? If so, how much does it cost? Also, is it easy to get one to bring us back to the ship? How do we go about getting a taxi? Thanks in advance!

Getting a taxi to and from is easy. Taxis are waiting and there is a dispatcher. Just tell him where you want to go and he will direct you to a taxi

When you want to come back just walk up from the beach and taxis will be waiting

It's about $10/person each way

Thank you so much! This makes me feel much less nervous 😊

You might even feel better knowing that the taxi fares are set by law and posted (even at the cruise port taxi pick-up area). They do a good job with the taxis and make the process quite painless :).

You will love Coki Beach. Just some tidbits:

When you first arrive, someone will come up and greet you.

They will escort you down to the beach and escort you to their section. My advice is look around and see what area you want to be in. If you like the section, great. If you want to go to another section, let them know.

All the workers have sections on the beach and the people in their section is who they wait on all day. And they work hard. They pretty much have it organized. This is how they make their money.

If you want to snorkel, get chairs and umbrella in front of dive shops.

Music will start around noon. All of Bob Marley hits are played.

I like to sit in the middle section. We get the same server every time we are there. She's awesome!

There's different menus on the beach. From burgers to seafood. I recommend for lunch the Snapper, rice and peas, salad and plantains. Delicious! Just let your server know what you want.

I put footage on "youtube" from this past May when we were on the NCL Escape.

I'll be there this December. Can't wait!:D

We'll be there in December as well on the Escape. 3rd time in St Thomas but first time heading to a beach. Is this beach suitable for a 4 year and 14 month old?

Be prepared to possibly have issues with the kids' taxi fares. Mine are small and sat in our laps. We were told if they ride in the lap, they are free since they don't take up a seat. Trying to leave Coral World, next to Coki, we had to pass up 2 taxis because they were trying to charge us for the kids or charge us extra due to 'insurance'... The dispatcher there said it was up to the driver the rates they charge, it's not. The driver we rode back with took down their info and was going to report them since it gives all taxi drivers a bad name and they were going to just pocket the money and not report it.
