Early Morning Seattle Ideas

We are flying in from the East Coast next Thursday and we work in construction so we usually wake up very early at home which equals really waking up early on vacation, esp on the West Coast. We only have one morning in Seattle before our cruise so any ideas of something to do that we could do very early in the morning? I know we can walk the market but most of it's booths don't open til 10am. Any local parks or attractions we could check out early? We won't have a car but are very used to Uber-staying at Marriott Waterfront.

This link has some great ideas

You can walk to Pioneer Square and the Seattle Center. Take a bus up the counter balance on Queen Anne and stop at Kerry Park where you can get some amazing pictures of the city or go check out the Columbia Tower observation

much more affordable than the Space Needle

Also just walking through the Market (Pike Place Market) early in the morning is peaceful and you get to see the vendors getting set up.

Hope this helps.

your comment about PPM hours is incorrect. The Athenium opens for breakfast at 8. historic, extensive menu and great view out over the sound when you sit upstairs

It's the Athenian, and Lowell's next door (better IMO) opens at 7. Plus the pre-opening hours are by far the best time to visit the market; it's fun to watch the merchants set up. Have a coffee or a nosh at one of the bakeries or coffee places in the market including the "original" (it isn't) Starbucks if you must, but be gone from the market by 10:30, after which the crowds become horrific.

Other options: Walk north along the waterfront from the Marriott to Myrtle Edwards Park at Pier 70, and walk along the waterfront - big pedestrian/bike path with great views. The Olympic Sculpture Park (wonderful outdoor sculpture) is just to the east of the park.

Or walk south from the Marriott to the ferry terminal and take either the ferry to Bainbridge Island and back (40 min. each way) or the West Seattle water taxi over to Seacrest Park in West Seattle (20 min. each way) either of which will give you superb views of the city, mountains, etc. There's a cafe on the ferry and a very cool Hawaiian/Korean diner on the water taxi dock if you need coffee (or at the diner - Marination Ma Kai - you can have something considerably stronger.)

Here's a map showing the locations of these places relative to the Marriott. https://goo.gl/maps/nuQpitaRLy52

Wow thank you guys so much! As usual a wealth of information here on CC. I've visited Seattle before but my husband has not so these ideas will be perfect. Also thanks for the head's up on that app, I was able to get guides for some of the other cities we are visiting as well.

We are taking the early morning access VIP food tour of pike place market. You can search to find it. Sounds very interesting. We are also from the east coast so wanted to do something before boarding as well
