Oasis class vs quantum

Do you think quantum will be as good as oasis class. I have to say after I went on Oasis all other ships fall short. I love how people can spread out and you don't feel crowded. Hope this stays with new quantum class. Who agrees?

It is hard to say I think with absolute certainty since no one has sailed on Quantum yet and people have different taste. So far for me Oasis and Allure have been the best cruise ships and cruises I have been on. I will try Quantum Class and see how I feel after that. To a certain extent I think RCCL feels so good about what the Oasis class has done that they are building two more for a total of four.

Quantum and Oasis have a similar space-ratio, so Quantum should not feel any more crowded.

Quantum: The problem with filling a ship with dining rooms and bars (just like Epic, Getaway and Breakaway) is that you do not leave much room for 'wow' spaces which Oasis has many of i.e. Central Park Boardwalk, Royal Prom, studio B etc.

Instead, RCI are tying to wow us with dining options and technology. Real innovations or silly gimmicks - only time will tell.

I don't think any ship will beat Oasis for many years, because of he sheer scale.

I've been looking at photos and the deck plans and I'm not sure what to think yet.

When I first looked at the deck plans I was pretty surprised by the lack of open public spaces. With the exception of the pool deck most public space seems to be taken by bars and restaurants. I was hoping to see more spaces like the boardwalk, central park and the promenade found on Oasis class.

I was also a bit disappointed to see the plan for the solarium. It's just too much like the Oasis class. We really enjoyed our cruise on Allure but didn't care for the solarium at all. The pool is far to small and we don't like the full glass enclosure. I was hoping for something more similar to what was done on the voyager class.

That said, RCCL has had a really good track record of designing and delivering new ships. The last three classes, Voyager, Freedom and Oasis, have all been ahead of their time and very well conceived. Hopefully the same will be said for Quantum.

In doing comparisons it's really not practical to compare Quantum to Oasis. The Oasis class is just so much bigger (wider) and designed for warm weather cruising that it allowed for much more open spaces.

I think a better comparison is to compare this ship to a Radience class ship on steroids but designed for cold weather sailing with many more indoor venues.

I agree...Time will tell how Quantum and Allure will compare.

We love Allure of the Seas, and she is our favorite ship so far.

But, she is so different from Quantum of the Seas. The outdoor spaces and just her shear size makes her different than Quantum. While we have had some issues booking dining on Quantum, we are looking forward to trying the different restaurants, as well as indoor venues and entertainment.

Plus, an Aqua Theater probably would not get much use in NJ. LOL.
