Bahamas Help

Hi all

This will be our third cruise. We will be going a a shorter 4 night cruise to the Bahamas at the end of April.

The stops are Freeport and Nassau.

I don't really want to do any excursions and from what I have been reading Freeport doesn't have a lot to offer.

I do want to get off the ship in Nassau though. I would like to see possibly the pirate museum and a few local highlights. Is this doable by walking or do we need a cab?

If we do get off the ship in Freeport is there anything worth checking out?

The Pirate Museum is a very short walk from the port (a few blocks).

In Freeport, there is a small market and a Senor Frogs in the port area. You really need to take a cab if you want anything more than that. We were just in Freeport last month and really enjoyed getting a day pass at Memories, an all-inclusive hotel. Next time, I think I would like to see the national park and caves. There is stuff to do in Freeport.

A few years ago, in Nassau, we walked to the British Colonial Hilton- had some tea- and then walked across the street to the Pirate Museum. It was quite trafficky crossing- another time we might take a taxi to the museum area.
