JonV Posted August 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2012 The Lazy Bear Out to Sea group is going on the RSVP cruise Feb 9-16 that was just changed from Mardi Gras to Karnval in Curaco.
BayAreaBC Posted August 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I'm glad it won't be all young beautiful bodies so I won't feel out of place. However, I hope there will be a few to look at.
BayAreaBC Posted August 19, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Just a bit of a warning, I've found the head of bearcruise.com to be a complete flake when it comes to booking anything. The people who work for him are good at booking the cruise. However, the owner deals with pre and post cruise hotels and is incapable of anwering inquiries. I ended up booking my flights, and pre and post hotel stays myself. I'm scared to think how any of the advertised excursions will be organized. xterracub Posted December 3, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2012 You can also look at Adventurebears.com . I booked this cruise (Nov 9-16, 2013). I'm not rich, and they seem to have some good prices, but it is a group cruise, they aren't on an all gay cruise.

Mikejergs Posted January 1, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 1, 2013 My bf and I are going on NCL on March 3rd. There is a bear group going. We booked through a "free" casino promotion so won't be in the block of rooms but I am hoping we can participate in some of the events!

Looks like it will be a pretty small group (50 folks ish). So will be nice to have some more folks to hang with. I think we're down the hall from you (looking at the cabin numbers on the roll call board). Looking forward to meeting you and Eli in March! Kenito Posted January 18, 2013 #17 Share Posted January 18, 2013 I am part of a gay group that gets together at least once a year... we have done mostly the Mexican Riviera (and will do the MexRiv again) but we are looking at Alaska for September 2013. We generally are about 40 guys, all types, but bears predominate ;) it seems. We put it together ourselves, look for bargains, and share the group benefits among the group members. We have been sticking with Carnival for the value and have not regretted it. Right now we are exploring the 7 day on the Miracle. I will be checking out the Bear cruises mentioned.... Echobeach Posted January 20, 2013 #18 Share Posted January 20, 2013 This is a shout out. Been considering a couple of cruises out of San Francisco this April. Either April 10th for two weeks to Hawaii with Princess or March 31st to Mexico again with Princess. However single fare is way too much. Any gay guys seeking travel companion, someone to share a cabin ? Would be interested. Adds are there any other forums out there for gay travellers seeking travel buddies ? VicCGA Posted January 23, 2013 #21 Share Posted January 23, 2013 My partner books cruises and it is easy to get together a group o on your own, with the help of a travel agent. There are also a number of benefits to doing it this way, including a free cruise fare if you are the one organizing it.
Kenito Posted January 24, 2013 #22 Share Posted January 24, 2013 My partner books cruises and it is easy to get together a group o on your own, with the help of a travel agent. There are also a number of benefits to doing it this way, including a free cruise fare if you are the one organizing it. I put together our (usually about 40 guys) cruises, book direct with Carnival, and find it very difficult to keep the benefits to myself. It makes for a better cruise if I split everything up... the guys get the full On Board Credit and whatever is left over I split up in drink coupons. It is not a "free cruise fare" either... (at least from my experience) it all depends upon how many cabins are booked... there is no more "one free for every ten." Of course, if a travel agent or cruise line puts it together and 'jimmys' the rates, then I guess anything is possible. I have only dealt with Carnival, use their published rates... there could be differences with others, and once the group gets over a certain number... then other benefits could kick in that I am unaware. Carnival is not the best line to work with, RCC and Princess tend to give better deals to groups, and still offer tour conductor credits. A little more expensive, but a different class of ship as well.
DeadMenTellNo Tales Posted January 25, 2013 #24 Share Posted January 25, 2013 My partner and I will be booking a cruise via Chumley's BearCruises (November 3rd-10th, 2013). It's our first time booking with this group. Looking forward to sailing on the brand new Royal Princess and meeting new friends! We are also working on convincing some additional friends to join us.
