Killerkelly Posted December 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Can anyone tell me what club/beach that the all inclusive through ShoreExcursioneer goes to in Progreso? My family booked an excursion there the week of Dec 12, but the ShoreExcursioneer website is kinda vague as to where they actually take you. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! SSuitepea Posted January 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2017 I also wonder about the shoreexursioneer.com AI. Is it through Auto Progreso? I have looked at Auto Progreso's AI, as well as Carnival's. Auto Progreso is highly recommended on CC, so I'd most likely be going with them or Carnival. Has anyone been? Is the same beach and company the Carnival uses? The descriptions are basically the same but the price is 1/2 through Auto Progreso. http://www.autoprogreso.com/TechnoEn.html https://www.carnival.com/shore-excursions/yucatan-progreso/all-inclusive-beach-resort-getaway-320044

Looking at the pictures from the listing on autoprogreso, it is not the same resort. The one Carnival uses is at the Reef Club. In my opinion, it was not worth the $79 price tag we paid for the AI through carnival. The food was just mediocre, wasn't terrible, but wasn't great. Also the beach there was almost all shells. Very hard to walk on, and the beach was dirty. I can't speak for the autoprogreso AI, but with that price difference, I think I would go for the cheaper option. We will be in Progreso in April, and I have no plans on doing an excursion there this time. The beaches just aren't that nice.
Curious about cruises Posted February 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2017 Has anyone taken a taxi and spent the day at Yucatan Beach Villas? Their website shows that you can get day passes. http://www.yucatanbeachvillas.com Would you be able to catch a colectivo there and back?
WisRiver Posted February 11, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 11, 2017 The collectivos travel from Chicxulub Puerto to KM 18 on the Progreso-Telchac Highway. You would be still be 6 km short of the resort, plus the collectivos do not make a direct run from Progreso. You would have to take two collectivos, the first from Progreso to Chicxulub Puerto and then the second to KM 18. Yucatan Beach is at KM 24. You should contact the resort directly for travel info. I agree it was not worth the $79.00 but fortunately we only paid $35.00 since we requested a price match and Carnival honored it so we only paid $35.00 each at the Reef Club. Exactly what we did as well. Probably worth $35 and no worries about missing the ship since you're with Carnival.:)

I wish I had known about the price match thing. I wouldn't have been nearly as disappointed if I had only paid $35. We are still new to cruising, so we are learning as we go. I will remember to check prices on excursions before we go in April. Have you had any luck price matching other excursions?
