Which Jamaican port do you recommend?

We are thinking about booking a cruise which includes Jamaica on the itinerary. Which port to you recommend, and why?

We docked in Ocho Rios last week. When we talked with our tour guide, they said more and more ships are docking in Falmouth for a variety of reasons. However, it is interesting to note that most of the attractions (Dunn's River, Blue Hole, bobsleds) are closer to Ocho Rios. If you want to cut down on travel time once you are off the ship, consider booking a cruise that stops in Ocho Rios rather than Falmouth/Montego Bay.

I would consider doing a bit of research regarding what you would like to do in Jamaica and then see which port meets your requirements.

few if any ships go there anymore . . . . certainly no large ones

Lots depends on where you want to go in Jamaica and how many times you've already been there. This makes a BIT difference.

At this point the port area (within the gates) in Falmouth works fine for us. :)

Thank you all. We are taking two teenage girls. We are cruising out of Galveston and cannot find a shop that goes to Ochoa Rios. It appears that only Royal Caribbean goes to Falmouth. Is that correct?

Maybe we can zip line from Falmouth. I'd love to know what you think is best to do in Falmouth.
