Hotel Near Hong Kong Cruise Port?

Can previous travelers to Hong Kong please recommend a decently priced hotel ($200. U.S. or less) near the cruise pier for Holland America Ships? I have read reviews for the Salisbury, but one contained a report about bed bugs. We'd love a good harbor view, clean and comfortable room. Thanks for all advice.

Assuming HAL docks at Ocean Terminal and not Kwai Chung, look for a hotel in Tsim Sha Tui, many hotels in this area will offer harbour view rooms, and Ocean Terminal is in this area too.

There is a Holiday Inn 3 or 4 blocks from the Ocean Terminal on Nathan Road. Not sure of the price

Name any hotel worldwide, and I can find poor reviews about it. ;)

When assessing reviews, I always ignore the excessively-gushing and the excessively-depricating, and go by the bulk of reviews.

If you do the same, I guess you ought to ignore mine :rolleyes: cos I think the place could not be in a better location, esp for cruisers, rooms are a good size for HK, clean and well-equipped, staff friendly & helpful, and overall it's excellent value-for-money.

But by the same token, ignore one mention of bed-bugs (did they bring the bedbugs with them?) and concentrate on the bulk of reviews.

Have just got back from a two night stay at the Salisbury (our 2nd visit in a year) was excellent, clean, smiling staff, wonderful indoor pool and best location. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Hong Kong. We stayed in a partial harbour view room and enjoyed the light show from the confort of our room. :):)

The Kowloon Hotel behind the Peninsula Hotel is quite affordable and very close.

Anyone familiar with Hotel Nikko?

If you can walk a block up a steep hill, the Stanford Hillview is just fine and very reasonable. We paid just over $100 in March. It is very close to Nathan Road and the Star Ferry and Ocean Terminal.

Update: Many ships are docking at the (new) Kai Tak Terminal now.
