Anyone back from the Grandeur recently?

We'll be on the Grandeur with two other couples on January 6th for a 10 nighter out of Baltimore to the Eastern and would like to know if there's any cruisers that recently returned from that itinerary.

Question being, how warm, or cool will we find the beach water and temperatures at Labadee, St. Thomas and Orient Beach St. Maarten this time of year.

Also, is the Solarium pool heated, how about the main pool ? Were there any cruisers that used the main pool and could enjoy it once in the Eastern Caribbean this time of year ?

Any other tips or suggestions would also be appreciated. Not our first time on the Grandeur or travelling in the winter. We're just looking to hear from what others may have to say.

On the Grandeur now. Did this itinerary. Weather was great, 80s. Water great. Pool is not heated, but was warm. You well have s great time.

How did the Atlantic Ocean treat you once you got into open waters?

How's the general atmospher of the ship / crew? ammeneties?

On our Thanksgiving cruise, they heated the main pool for first two days - it was awesome. We saw some people in there the first day! We were not that brave but went in on first sea day.

We had calm seas heading out, but hit rough waters coming back for one day.

I thought the seas were fine. Not bad at all.

Just got off Dec 9th Western. Had 30' waves last day back to Balt. Don't waste your money on the pay Restaurants. Not worth the extra $$$.

We've always had very good meals at Chops.

Last year on our first full day out of Baltimore we had similar waves. Formal night was cancelled as well as the production show.. After that it was smooth sailing.:)
