Hi

How do we know if we have a gift given by friends?

The issue I have had in the past is that friends have ordered us a gift for us to get when we get on-board......but when we have gone to the stateroom it is not there.

We then contact reception and they say they have no record.

On our return we have seen that our friends debit card shows the transaction.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

The answer may vary by cruise line, so you may want to post this in the section for the line you will sail with.

On Princess, there is a card in your cabin when you arrive indicating what the gift is and who sent it. In most cases, the gift is not there, you call room service for it

I sent a "gift" to a friend...didn't tell them in advance, but after they boarded,, I called to see how their cabin was...and they were telling me about other friends gifts....so I told them I had sent something, too....they had to go to the desk to finally get it.

Best not to leave it a surprise. Tell whoever gets the gift that something will be there for them...so they will know to ask about it!

I would be really upset if I gave something, and the recipient never knew it!
