Katakolon what to do but not Olympia?

Any top tips?

Was also wondering what to do if not Olympia

From my research not much. I have read about a beach and some shops/ restaurants. I also read about a winery, but my cruise isn't until March so no personal experience.

We had a great trip with him to the Temple of Apollo Epikourios at Bassae. A wonderful trip if you are deeply into the earliest Greek archaeology. We were the only people there, which perhaps indicates that it was a bit of a minority interest trip.

Thanks for posting this. Sounds like exactly what I want to do on my next visit to Katakolon. :)

You should have really posted this in the Greece section.

We rented a car and drove to the wonderful crusader fort of Chlemoutsi. Beautifully restored, no tourists around. Use the search function in the Greece section to find the posts where I and others shared info and photos (12 posts).

Well we are back.

Just wandered around, found a nice antique type shop in a back street and had a beer in a local bar

We had planned to see Olympia but my father in law (whom we were spending another week after the cruise in athens) called and said he planned to take us to Olympia when we were seeing him so we could see the countryside and what not. So we decided to just walk around. We sat on the beach and ordered drinks and swam. That's it. And it was wonderful!
