Great Stirrup Cay: Paddleboard/Snorkeling

I noticed under the excursions for GSC that there is a $20 paddleboard rental...does anyone know if you can just rent a paddleboard if you so choose once you're on the island instead of pre-booking it as an "excursion?"

Also...I saw another snorkeling "excursion" for $30 around some sunken ship/reef, etc. It says "all-day," and someone mentioned that it is basically a snorkeling gear rental. We have our own snorkel gear, so does anyone know if we can snorkel in this area without booking the excursion?

Yes you can use your own gear. There are reports that you must have a vest. They rent them for 5 bucks.

You can snorkel on your own, if you have the gear...

The paddle board IS an excursion...you can't just rent the board and do your own thing.
