walkabout07 Posted December 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Has anyone done both? Or either? Which cruise should I choose? They leave one day apart from San Diego and they are the same price for the cabin category we are looking at? What are the naturalists or historians or speakers like on each? How about the shows? Activities? Common areas? Views of the canal? Thanks in advance for any guidance. Edited December 31, 2014 by walkabout07 April has one L
CruiserBruce Posted December 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Sounds like you have been on both lines, so you know their strengths and weaknesses. Those won't change. The Canal is the Canal. There are no special views from one ship, or another. So seeing it from a Princess, Celebrity, HAL or any other ship isn't really going to change anything. Some reading here would reveal a special treat would be a stop in Panama, at Colon, for example. While we haven't done that, the Canal is still the main point of a Canal cruise. Longhorn82 Posted October 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2015 We did Legend eastbound last year 11/30-12/15. There were many enjoyable moments. Seeing the canal being one, but the Legend is poorly managed. If I had time, I could list the many problems!
Longhorn82 Posted October 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Oh, and we are RCL Diamond plus, so we have sailed on many ships. This one did not measure up.
CruiserBruce Posted October 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2015 You might note this thread is almost a year old. I would assume the OP has already booked their cruise.
cb at sea Posted October 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Stopping in Colon is not really a "treat"....if you miss it, you won't have missed much!
