Pier Area

Since I'll be scuba diving (and partying) on Bonaire the day before, Aruba will be a get up late and wander off the ship. I've read all the threads about beaches, shopping, etc. but can someone give me a basic idea of what's within one or two miles of where we'll dock? I plan on just throwing a few things in a backpack and start walking. Thanks!

Just off the dock is hotel/casinos, shops, restaurants......you can spend a great deal of time just wandering in a 3-4 block area! Can't help with further past there...we went to Eagle beach via cab!

If you walk across the street from the pier and a short distance to your right there are lots of shops, restaurants and other such stuff to enjoy.

Very easy.

Hopefully you will be partying after Scuba Diving and not before. LOL.

Are all the beaches in Aruba open to the public? Can we just put our towels in the sand or do we have to rent chairs? TIA

Other than Renaissance Island and DePalm Island, you can sit on your towels on any beach. There are vendors around that rent chairs if you'd like. There are a lot more chairs for rent along Palm Beach than Eagle Beach, but feel free to plop on your towels wherever you'd like. Resorts get ticked when cruisers sit in their chairs, and spend their days kicking them out.
