Has anyone used Courtney lately? Any problems? We want to do a custom tour in Ocho Rios - Dunns River Falls, sightseeing, lunch. Was he easy to locate at the port? Any comments, suggestions appreciated!

This was our favorite excursion on our cruise due in large part to Courtney. His company was very responsive via email and quickly got back to us with a quote and easy to follow directions. The price was extremely reasonable for a private tour for two.

We started the day by meeting Cortney Taylor in the private excursion area in the Falmouth port where we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Courtney would be providing the tour himself. First stop, Blue Hole which was about 45 minutes away from the port. Robert was our guide and he was fabulous. He took excellent care of us while guiding us through the many jumps. The next stop, The White river for some tubing. Jack was our guide here. He gave us lots of great information about the flora and fauna interspersed with several Bob Marley songs. He is a great singer and a nice guy. Final stop, Scotchies for an authentic Jamaican lunch...yum.

Overall this was a wonderful tour. Courtney was so warm and friendly. I can't say enough to truly express how awesome this day was for us. I highly recommend Courtney Taylor!

We used Courtney Taylor tours on September 18, I think. Courtney was our driver that day and he was terrific.

Here is the review I did of his service on my trip report on my travel website:

We contacted several private excursion operators to arrange a small group excursion during our visit to Jamaica on September 18, 2014. We chose Courtney Taylor tours after reviewing the price quotes and reading the terrific reviews at Trip Advisor and CruiseCritic.

We requested a tour that would take us to the Blue Hole, Scotchies restaurant and then the beach - this was not a pre-designed itinerary listed on his site, but Samantha, the person who responded to our email, said they'd be happy to create whatever itinerary we wanted for the day. There were two other couples in our group, and they wanted to go tubing rather than visit the beach. No problem, as the Jamaicans say, Samantha told us that the driver would drop the other couples off for tubing, then take us to the beach, then pick them up, then pick us up. Wow, that's a customized tour!

Courtney himself was our tour guide (pictured to the right). He picked us up in a spacious, clean van that gave us a comfortable ride for the day. He first drove us to the Blue Hole . Along the 75 minute drive he talked about Jamaica - the language, how the country was structured, its foods, etc. (Turns out Courtney was formerly a teacher, so educating his guests about his country is a natural for him.) Lots of fun and he had a great sense of humor.

From the Blue Hole we drove to the river for the tubing, dropping off the other couples. Then Courtney drove us to Mammee Bay, a private resort community, and left us to enjoy an hour on the beach. Courtney promised to return to pick us up at 1:30 and he was right on time.

By this time we were starved so we went to Scotchies for their famous jerk chicken and pork.

After lunch Courtney took us back to the ship, arriving well in advance of our scheduled departure time.

I went through the whole itinerary to give you a sense at how much you can customize your excursion with Courtney Taylor. Just tell them what you want to do and they'll quote you a price. Want to change it up a bit when you get there, do something different? No problem. They really want you to enjoy your visit and will work to get you where you want to be. Courtney was terrific - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful . . . he couldn't have been better.

Top ratings for Courtney Taylor tours - if we go back to Jamaica, I won't bother to contact anyone else for price quotes.

Ok, this is getting too funny fellow Hawkeye!

Do you mind me asking what you paid for your tour? I heard back from Courtney via email and she seems pricey. I have researched 2 other tour operators and they too are all coming in higher than if I booked directly through RCL. That's odd as the ship excursions are always more expensive! And yes, I checked and double checked to make sure they all include the exact same things.

Really don't like booking through the ship, but if it's the best deal then I guess that's what we'll go with!

Sure! I booked the Blue Hole with Peat. I'm not interested in tubing so we will have lunch at Scotchies and possibly a beach stop on the way back if there is time. It was $50/person (lunch not included). That DOES include the admission cost of Blue Hole.

Shoot! Checked his website and he does not do a group tour to the Bobsled/Mystic Mountain. I'm sure he would do a private tour, but of course for a pretty penny! Looks like we'll be going with the cruise ship excursion.....

booked this tour before our cruise as the company came highly recommended on Cruise Critic and was very affordable. We came in to Falmouth and booked a tour of Blue Hole (amazing, by the way) which is 90 minutes away for less than $40 a person for our group of 4 people. We were met at the docks by our driver Riley and quickly escorted to our private, air-conditioned van. I can not speak highly enough about Mr. Riley as he was unbelievably friendly and informative. He accommodated our every wish and need going out of his way for even menial tasks. The tour of the mountains was breathtaking and the destination was one of the most beautiful and fun places I have ever seen. Lunch at Scotchies was delicious and cheap!! Highly recommend Courtney Taylor after this experience.

As I said in the other thread here about Courtney Taylor, I must have e mailed him on an off day?

I was interested in a private tour and the answer I got to my e mail totally ignored what I was asking about and just said he would be "available" to discuss my needs after I booked a tour.

I prefer discussing things before I book something so I ended up booking a private tour with Peat Taylor(no relation). He was very good at communicating back and forth with me about exactly what was included and answered all of my questions!

Yeah who knows what happened there. I was given all information right away and all questions were answered before I officially booked. Maybe back when you emailed it was a different employee? I had read good things about both Courtney Taylor and Peat Taylor but I ended up going with Courtney as the tour was private versus the 4 others Peat wanted to put our group with for the same price.
