I did actually have the A6300 and FE70-300mm with me. Shooting from the pool is great because my eye is right at ground level with the birds and squirrels - so you get a neat perspective on them. It's a weekend tradition all summer and fall during the hot weather to head out to the wetlands, get all sweaty and coated in bugs, then come home, load up a cooler of drinks, and bring the camera out with me. The cooler and camera sit poolside, so I can grab and shoot if there's any backyard action. I either lean on the rim of the pool and shoot, or I use a foam pool float to rest the camera and lens on (the float is doubled over so it sits a good 4 inches out of the water). I've been doing that with my NEX-5N and A6000 too for years now...I'm actually a little more secure with the A6300 and FE70-300mm because they're both lightly weather-resistant, so they could handle a little accidental splash, unlike my past camera/lens combos!
