First time cruise. Sailing out of new orleans. Worried about flooding

Cruising out of new orleans on the 29th of August. How is the flooded in that area? What if I can't get there? I have a room booked in slidell the day before. I have heard that it is flooding there. And no I did not purchase insurance:(

Call the hotel but the French quarter and port area are fine. We are cruising out of there Aug 25.

Flooding in Slidell? First I hear of any flooding there since Katrina. We cruise on 28 August on the Dream.

You'll be fine. My dh was just in Slidell. The flooding was north of Lake Pontchartrain.

It may be better by then if no more rain.

There is no flooding in New Orleans!

If you look at a map you'll see that Baton Rouge is west of there and the rest of the flooding is north of Lake Ponchartrain.

We certainly hope it does not spread southward into New Orleans!

I live about 15 minutes north of Slidell and have been to Downtown New Orleans many times this week. This area is completely dry. Not a thing to worry about.

When we see the floods on television, we visualize everything in sight is flooded. But they really show the worst even if it's in a small area.

There are many maps on line showing the flooded areas.

All you have to do is look at a map to see that New Orleans is just fine right now!

The flooding is north of New Orleans, south and east of Baton Rouge.
