Capt_BJ Posted July 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) no reply yet? Well I'll dive in ... most of the time after the first reply there are 10 others to say why it is wrong . . . IMO you need a wet suit ..... it is cold I'm a long time Florida and Carb diver who had a two year excursion to the Pacific and visited Mazatlán, and Aco' frequently while living in San Fran. I had my dive gear and wet suit ... a Carib' wet suit .... and after testing the waters a time or two, never dove ..... IMO ... TOO DAMN COLD to dive .... by MY standards . . BUT COLD is subjective ..... I have visitors from the frozen north who come and swim in my pool in the winter when it is WAY too cold for me .... if the pool temp is below 80 I'm probably not interested. My friends from WS seldom see lake temps anywhere NEAR that warm in mid summer ...... Edited July 30, 2016 by Capt_BJ
Laurie S. Posted July 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2016 I wanted to dig out my dive logbook before giving my two cents. I regularly dive in San Carlos, which is at the same latitude as Cabo San Lucas. The average November water temperature that I have encountered is 63 to 68 degrees. I'm in a 3 mm suit at those temperatures, my husband is in a 7 m. Yes, you will need a wetsuit. But, it's great diving in November!
