Port of Miami to FLL - early flights

Hello all, just a little report on today's experience. We returned to Miami on the Norwegian Getaway. We cleared customs by 8am doing the express walk-off with our bags. I had booked transport with SAS, and we were at the airport at 9am. The cost was $15pp.

For an early flight, it was good that we were on the first shuttle out, as there were a couple of accidents/closures on our way, and the traffic going towards Miami was horrendous for the shuttles to get back to the port.

Flight time was 12:10...not that early. But for an international flight we technically should have been at the airport 2 hours before. So when I saw 8am on the itinerary and the NCL fine print which says it could take up to 2 hrs to get off the ship...I was concerned.

Yes Noon or later is what we recommend.

It takes into account things that can go wrong.

Sometimes things work like a charm but other times things don't.

When it comes to immigration/customs in the USA ports you don't know. I have seen the best and the worst.

Glad it worked out for you.

Keith
