Lower Town or Upper Town

Recommended Posts

If I was only able to do one, it would be the lower town. Depending on how much time you devote to shopping or eating you might find that you have time do do both. Another option is to do the upper town via funicular and walk through some of the old town to get to the funicular (and then back to the ship). Here is a link to my pictures from a few weeks ago.

I agree that it is totally possible to see both Upper and Lower Quebec in a day. However, if you have plans for another activity (such as a trip to the Falls) and only have a couple of hours or so for part of Quebec, I would choose Lower Quebec. I enjoyed the quaint streets (e.g. Rue de Petit Champlain) and the city squares (e.g. Place Royale). You could even include a ride up the funicular to take a walk along the Dufferin Terrace.

Thank you! - really nice pictures --- we're so excited to visit Quebec -- we depart from there and have allowed three days in the city. :)

Lovely photos -- that is my travel hobby and I come back with way too many! Loved the framing of so many of your pics. Were you on the Veedam? We will be on the Maasdam so will have only 1 day in QC.

Thank you so much for sharing your link!

We were on Veendam.

Travel photos are also my hobby. This year was a little light as I only took about 1,200 photos in a week. I know it's not technically a topic for this board but here are last year's pictures. If you like them, tell me your email and I will send you the links to others.
