Help.... I have this hotel booked for 2 days prior to our March 22nd cruise. Is this an OK Hotel? Is there a lot of crime in this area? We have a rental car so I'm not worried about getting around.

I'm a bit worried about this hotel after reading the reviews.

Thank You.

I pass the New Yorker twice a day on my commute to and from work. It is one of the 1950s motels on Biscayne Boulevard. They were built to provide tourists with cars a less expensive alternative to staying in Miami Beach. The area is not great. However, Michy's, one of Miami's premiere restaurants, is close. There are several other restaurants, as well. I do not know if the New Yorker's rooms have been renovated (most of the motels have not been renovated).
