Cruise Miles

Does anyone know how to find out how many miles you will travel on a cruise?

Thanks,:)

If you google "distances between ports", you'll find some maritime distance calculators like sea-distances.org. These will give a distance from "sea buoy to sea buoy" (i.e. not including distance travelled while maneuvering) between major commercial ports, by the most usual routing. This doesn't include all cruise ship ports in places like the Caribbean, so sometimes you have to estimate. Also, remember that nautical miles are 6080 feet, not 5280 feet, so 1 nautical mile = 1.15 statute (land) miles.

No sure way but you can approximate it by drawing a path with Google Earth (avoiding landmasses and shallow waters of course). I just did this for my upcoming cruise: Over 13,400 km/8,200 miles over 22 days.

Using the Zaandam as a cheap ocean liner crossing from Vancouver to Valparaiso :D

I know that Princess also delivers a log of your cruise on the last night. If you could find someone doing the same itinerary on a cruise before yours, ask them. Check out the roll call threads to find them.
