I am on the 8/13/15 British Isle Cruise--you might want to go to the Princess Cruise Royal Princess Roll Call and look up this specific cruise I know there is alot of activity on it--there are multiple people setting up their own private tours that are looking for people to join them and something might spark your interest

We've taken this cruise and if the itinerary is the same here are some ideas:

1. Book with Butlers Buses to get to Blarney Castle.

2. Greenock - local bus tour of the city and castle. Inexpensive, very good. Look for David Mckelvey as your guide.

3. Inverness - cab tour of area and Loch Ness.

4. South Queensferry - train to Edinburgh.

5. La Havre - took Princess tour to Paris with lunch on the Siene.

Have fun

Any recommendations for excursions on the royal staring August 13. Having never been to this area want to make sure we see most important things

Hi, friends did this cruise last year and used ultimate Scottish tours ltd and did private tours from Greenock and Edinburgh, I had hoped to meet them but couldn't get time off so they had to book tours but loved them.

How was the Le Havre tour to Paris and lunch? Was thinking of it. It is going to be a long day, was it worth the travel time?

Definitely do Butler's bus tour to Blarney Castle, Kinsale. etc/

Liverpool, do the tour of North Wales on BusyBus.

Belfast, there is a great tour of the Giant's Causeway, rope bridge and Belfast on Odyssey.

For Le Harve the ship's excursion to the Normandy Beaches and Bayeux Tapestry is wonderful.

Inverness, do go to Loch Ness. We did the ship's tour, which was not expensive.

Greenock, don't miss going to Edinburgh.

Looking at prior repsonses I see no one has suggested the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh. If you are in Scotland (Aug 7-29), I consider this a must see. We have done it on our own both times. We prefer the end seats, but have seen a great video from the side stands.

What is the best and cheapest way of getting to Edinburgh from Greenock, Celebrity has a transfer at $55/pp but am sure it can be done for less.

We also want to do a half day tour to Wicklow and Glendalough, prfereably in the morning so that we have the afternoon for Dublin, any suggestions for tour operators? Thanks in advance!

BTW 4774Papa, we also plan on going to Bayeux, have always wanted to see the famous tapestry.
