While in Portland, is it worth it to go to L L Bean?

If you want to go there, it's worth going there. The main store is quite unlike all the regional locations.

LL Bean is a destination, but it will be more meaningful if you like their stuff. Personally, I love LL Bean. In addition, there are many worthwhile stores and outlets within easy walking distance. Something for everyone.

It is not that far from Portland and if you want to spend your time shopping at LL Bean, then go for it. Remember they are open 24/7, 365 days a year.

If you are a fan, try their outlet shop for some good bargains.

We were there this past Friday. LL Bean store is huge but you pretty much have to be an LL Bean fan for it to be a big deal. The outlet store has good bargains. The other outlet stores are similar to outlet malls all over the US. If you are not from the area, probably not what I would do with a single day in Portland.
