Going to the Midway in San Diego

Recommended Posts

It is a 5 minute walk from the ship. If you belong to Costco, then you can get 2 tickets for $27.99. Here is the link. Or you can book online at www.midway.org and save $2. I have gone twice and got tickets each of these ways.

If you decide to take the tour of the island, then there are 4 sets of steep stairs. The tour is free, but there could be up to a 30 minute wait as only about 20 people go at a time with a guide. I did the island tour 1st before there were a lot of people. It gets more crowded later in the day. IIRC you go down about 3 decks, not all connected.

If you can't do a lot of stairs, you don't need to go down to the bottom deck. There is a lot of interesting items on the flight deck and inside.

Thank you,

You answered my most pressing question. I can wait if my DH wants to go down to the bottom or tour the island. I am recovering from a hip replacement and can do some stairs but need to be careful.

We were planning to do it on our own, not a ships tour.
