Quiet Place on the Jade

We have booked a 9 day cruise for next year (yay!), but some of group is a little older and would prefer to not always have the rush of a ton of people. Besides their stateroom and the library, anyone have any favorite little quiet hideaways on the Jade. I know we have traveled other ships and have found nice little bars or decks that are very quiet and more peaceful.

Thanks.

I really like deck 7. There are some lounge chairs set up and on a nice day it's very relaxing to sit and read a book, listen to and watch the sea. Pool deck usually more bustling with bands, music and pool activities. Activities can vary depending on what's going on so some bars and restaurants may be closed here and there for a private function or group activities. The Jade is pretty easy to find way around and since it's not terribly large one can find a peaceful area to sit and relax without too much trouble. I've seen people playing cards and reading in the garden cafe between meals.

Depending on the time of day, the Spinnaker lounge on Deck 13 is a great place to sit and read or just watch the sea go by. It's really good for Sailaway if the weather isn't cooperating. It is one of our favorite places to escape crowds. Some of the small bars aren't crowded during the day, depending on tiime and cleaning schedule. The Atrium isn't always all that busy and great for people watching. Outside, it depends on the weather, but if the Jade is doing Northern Europe next year, you won't have a crowded pool area very often, and there are less windy areas that might work. Good luck and enjoy the Jade! You will have a wonderful time.

The Jade, like sister ships Jewel Pearl and Gem have lots of quiet places. During the day, many of the bars are quiet and people sit in them. I have seen people sit in the window seats near the casino because they like to people watch while reading or watching the ocean go by. The only places that seem to be "busy" are the pool and buffet during certain times and showtimes in the theatre. Other times the buffet can be quiet. Card room and library.

Really, people find lots of places that work for them.

Again, the "rush" of people is just not that common.

Agree with the spinnacker lounge when there's nothing going on in there (there was often movies or bingo). That also was my favorite sail away spot. Entire from wall of mirrors looking out over the front of the ship.

Also during the day the martini/champagne bar areas were quiet and had comfortable seating options.

  • 4 weeks later...

Loved Spinnaker on the Pearl but it seemed like we would not more than get settled in and a "game" would start. Rained and was a little chilly (needed a jacket) most days (in Alaska) so outside wasn't my favorite option for sitting and reading. Cardroom was only quiet very early when it was empty, inside voice appears to be a lost art. Thought Atrium was loud all the time and not terribly comfortable. If I had been able to find a quiet spot inside that stayed quiet consistently and was comfortable sitting and reading or for a game of cribbage it would have been great.
