i am leaving in a couple of days for a cruise on the sky and i will be staying in suite aa8201. i know that i will be able to have breakfast and lunch at no additional fee in cagneys' but was wondering if i had to pay the service fee if i ate there in the evening. i was also wondering what other "perks" came with the owners suite. thanks so much for all the advice and comments i know that i will be getting from all of you.

Prepare to be spolied. My last cruise was in owners suite. I liked it sip much that I got off the ship on Saturday & booked my next cruise in an owners suite on Monday. Everyone should do an owners suite once. You still have to pay to go to Cagney's or any other specialty restaraunt. In the owners suite you get unlimited water & soda in your cabin. Bubbly will be in your room when you board. Also you get 3 bottles of liquor. You choose from a list they give you. Private/Resereved seats at the shows. Does the Sky have a private courtyard?? If it does you get access to it. There is more but can't remember.

I was in the penthouse suite on the Sky in January.

You get flowers, a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and other treats delivered every day.

You get priority entrance and exit off the ship. This is a high luxury on the Great Stirrup Cay day and at the end of your cruise.

They threw another bottle of wine at Cagneys for us and we always had reserved seats at the shows. The butler was nice and you have a cappacino/coffee maker/tea machine in your suite.

The Sky does not have a courtyard area. The owners suites have hot tubs on the balconies and you get several bottles of liquor too.

My favorite perk was lunch and breakfast in Cagneys at no charge. Room service is also free and take advantage of it one day and eat on your large balcony.

Have a great trip. Let us know how you liked it. I wrote a review of my Sky suite trip here in the review section.

I was in the penthouse suite on the Sky in January....

Was there a DVD player, or any type of entertainment system (suitable for plugging in an mp3 player to) in the penthouse?

Thanks,

Tom

The personal computer and personalized stationary were not available when we cruised on Sky. Other than that, the list seems to be correct. I am not sure how many are traveling with you but don't forget to use that second bathroom! ;) We knew it was there but kept forgetting about it until the last day.

Also, we had lounge chairs which prevent you from being able to see the sea since the balcony guard/rail is metal. We did not think to do this but we should have asked the steward and/or butler to change them out for a table and four deck/sit up chairs. The lounge chairs really took up a lot of room and were not very good for entertaining.

Oh yes, there is a DVD player and a flat panel TV in both rooms. They also have a video library of movies for you and any kids.

The Sky is the ship to get a suite. It may not have a courtyard area but you are in port every morning so there is not really the time to enjoy a courtyard. The price is great too. The concierge is awesome too. I forget her name but she checks in on you daily and visits you at breakfast and dinner.

Oh another great perk. All suite guests get a private cocktail party with the captain and his crew. When do you get free alcohol on a cruise? I put away 4 glasses of wine that night before dinner ;0 :)

Yes your wife will be blown away. The bathroom is HUGE too with separate shower and big tub.

That is typical of NCL--but there is no formal night for example like on the list

so I guess I would verify this list again and make sure it it the latest--especially for the SKy which may not have all the amenities listed in the list like --Ipod docking station etc.--computer etc like the newer ships--I guess

I would rely on what is on the web site.

In general the list is the same as the link to the latest on NCL.com. As far as a computer that link not only indicates there is one in the AA but the Courtyard Villas on the other ships. We know that is not the case. :D

I just looked at the amenities chart again and there is no computers on the list, no Ipod docking station etc. Maybe someone who has recently stayed in the owners suite on the Sky could verify the above list. Also I am not sure there is a separate suite room service menu that is different than the one in the regular suite which i know for a fact is no different than the standard room service menu--you can probably get anything you want from the butler except sushi--which they will not do on room service. Also there is really no formal concierge lounge from the ships i have sailed on--they just hang out by Cagney's usually. Maybe the Epic will have a dedicated lounge???? Chocolates at bed turn down I believe have been eliminated in all suites--this was recent change this year. Also I have never seen one of these feather duvets??? This look like a list that came out during the roll out of 2.0 --a lot has changed since then.

You won't pay for Cagneys for Breakfast and Lunch but you will for dinner. Eat there for Breakfast and Lunch, the food is much better than the other options, not crowded and very peaceful and calm, unlike the Garden Cafe! I have menus posted for Cagney's Breakfast and Lunch, only available to these rooms, on my NCL menus page. You will love it.

We were in an owner's suite on the Sun last October, and are booked for a return trip B2B in December. Prepare to be spoiled. Prepare to enjoy your vacation. There's nothing like it

I'm curious about the three bottles of liquor. Are they full sized bottles? That seems like a lot of liquor for a three/four day cruise.

Ernie

I was in an Owner's Suite on the Star in 2007. They provided me a list of liquor that I could choose from. They were 750 ML bottles, the standard tall skinny bottles that one would pick up at the liquor store. Since my wife likes Barcardi Rum, we got 2 bottles of that and one bottle of Vodka, don't remember the brand. But we brought home one of the rum bottles, unopened.
