Been to GC several times but this time with a Toddler and thinking of going to 7 Mike beach. Where would you recommend with her? Sea grape/calico jacks or Tiki? We would definitely want to get some chairs and an umbrella for shade!

Thank you,

Public Beach (Sea Grape/Calico Jacks) has a playground and would likely be your best bet, IMO.

If we visit a beach without facilities, like cemetery beach for example, can we take a 6 pack of beer to enjoy while we snorkel/sun? Anyone have any experience with the safety of the area?

Hidden under a blanket, with you keeping an eye on it from the water, likely fine safety-wise.

You will have to stop at one of the public liquor stores along the way there (not one of the duty-free stores near the port) and as a warning, the prices are high. Like really high. At least double (or more) than what you'd pay at home.

I am on board Freedom today. A lady at the port was directing us to taxi's to the beach. People asked specifically for the beach they wanted to go to and she said yes every time. The driver took us to Royal Palm and /Calico Jacks/Sea Grape and made everyone in the van get out at Calico Jacks. Passengers were really upset as they wanted to go to cemetery beach and some to Tiki beach. He said no he doesn't go there everybody out. Just a warning to double check with the driver. Also the people going to cemetery beach he said it was a mile up and expected them to walk.

We always go to the public beach at Seagrape to the left of Calico Jacks if you are looking at the water. Unless they have changed the loungers at Calico Jacks are old and dirty. We go to the left and get them on the public beach vendors closer to where the food truck sits and before where the restrooms are. i want to say we pay maybe $24 for 2 loungers and 1 umbrella. Sand is gorgeous, water is crystal clear. Hubby always gets lunch from the locals cooking out of the food trucks and he loves it.

As long as you are not renting from Calico Jacks, you can have your own drinks with you without any issue at all.

BTW, I emailed the Tiki Hut and they said the following: So you cannot just show up there.

Tiki Beach is a private beach complex and when guests arrive off any cruise ship that we have mutual guests from, we encourage them at all times to get the applicable excursion, with or without lunch, available on the ship, or on line if it is before the cruise has departed, as it is so convenient and transportation is arranged and included. Tiki Beach and Resort Sports have representatives on the Cruise ship dock and they meet and greet our guests upon arrival.

Umbrellas can be rented at U.S. $ 10.00 per person, and there are also lockers for rental on our property.

Beach cabanas are on our private beach, overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea, with access to the main beach. The rental is U.S. $ 75.00 per person for a maximum of 4 guests. Any other amenities are extra.

Children of all ages are welcome.

We also have a beautiful a la carte Restaurant on location, overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea, where you can relax over a cocktail of your choice or try one of our many delicious luncheons, prepared by our international chefs. Luncheon specials and specialty cocktails are offered to our guests daily.

Unfortunately, Tiki Beach cannot accept any direct reservation; all reservations must be booked through your cruise line.
