What is the new pier like in Roadtown, please?

As of earlier this week it is nowhere near finished. There area couple nice, reasonably priced, local shops right by the ship but the rest is all still a fenced off construction zone.

Any idea when it is supposed to be completed?

We were just on the Dec 12 sailing of the Escape. There were only about 5 or 6 shops open. We were told that it might be finished by March or April of 2016.

The pier is open and can accommodate two ships at a time. If more are visiting that day, other ships would need to tender.

The "Grand Opening" started on Feb. 16th. There are several shops open and several more which look like they are about to open. There is a waterside restaurant to the right as you walk from the pier. The shops flank both sides of the street. If you walk to the end of this area(straight ahead), there are taxis waiting. We were offered several 2hr tours of the island for $20/pp but had already booked our tour. The taxi operators were not pushy and very polite.

Is this like the Roatan and Falmouth set up, where the port area is a destination in itself?
