S.S.Oceanlover Posted May 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2017 I am currently platinum with Royal with 2 more cruises booked with them which will make me Emerald. Would I be status matched to the same category for both platinum or Emerald or would waiting until I am Emerald get me a higher status? Also can you only do the status match after you book a cruise with MSC or can you submit the status match form before you actually book? OneParticularHarbour 71 Posted May 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2017 I don't know the answer regarding how Royal's status matches up, but yes, you can get status matched prior to booking your cruise. I believe it does expire though if you don't book within a certain time period (3 yrs maybe?).
hawkeyetlse Posted May 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2017 How long will it take you to reach Emerald? I think C&A Platinum only matches to MSC Silver, so it's better if you take your next two RCI cruises and become Emerald before applying for a match to MSC Black. But if those RCI cruises are still a year or two away, I would be worried that MSC might discontinue the Status Match program in the meantime…

TIA Bill You can do it either way - we booked two rooms - I had matched before we booked and had DW match after we booked and they gave us the discount which was great. S.S.Oceanlover Posted May 23, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted May 23, 2017 Thanks for the replies. Plenty of good info. We won't be Emerald on RCI until next April. Maybe just register one of us now and the other after our April cruise if the status match is still available. Thanks again everybody.
