CelticMutt Posted April 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Hi, I posted this to our May 30, 2015 Roll Call, but I thought it might come in handy for others so-inclined. We're a group of 4, early 60’s for perspective. I'm attaching a copy of the screenshot of the spreadsheet I developed but it's a bit low-res. I'm hoping that it's clear enough to read. Feel free to ask anything that's unclear. We're at the IC Tahiti 2 days pre-cruise and at the IC Thalasso Spa 3 days post. Regards, Bill Day -2 Thur 05/28/2015 Arrive Papeete 8:30 PM Day -1 Fri 06/29/2015 Papeete, Tahiti Susan's 1/2 Day Tour of Island $72 http://www.uniquetahiti.com/west-coast-half-day-tour Day 1 Sat 05/30/2015 Papeete, Tahiti 3 PM Boarding Day 2 Sun 05/31/2015 Huahine Marc's Combo Island Tour $140 http://www.huahine-nautique.com/blog...28/marc-combo/ Day 3 Mon 05/01/2015 At Sea Day 4 Tue 06/02/2015 Aitutaki, Cook Islands Teking's Snorkeling Safari $95 http://www.tekingtours.com/our-tours/ Day 5 Wed 06/03/2015 Rarotonga, Cook Islands Muri Lagoon Cruise $115 Ship excursion - Recommended by Tiki Day 6 Thu 06/04/2015 At Sea Day 7 Fri 06/05/2015 Bora-Bora Lagoon Cruise & Polynesian Feast (BRB-1602) $199 Day 8 Sat 06/06/2015 Bora-Bora Matira Beach stop on our own or through the ship Day 9 Sun 06/07/2015 Taha'a (Motu Mahana) Ship's Motu Excursion Day 10 Mon 06/08/2015 Moorea Albert's 4X4 Safari 8:30 AM pickup $43 http://www.albert-transport.net/safa..._us.php?nx=4X4 Day 11 Tue 06/09/2015 Moorea to Tahiti Trail - of Ancients $99 Day 12 Wed 06/10/2015 Papeete, Tahiti Disembark - Travel to Bora Bora Day 13 Thur 06/11/2015 Bora Bora Lagoon on Pontoon $100 pp $378 for the boat http://www.laplage-borabora.com 6hp Day 14 Fri 06/12/2015 Bora Bora Helicopter Tour? $200 Day 15 Sat 06/13/2015 Bora Bora Open Day 16 Sun 06/14/2014 Bora Bora to Home Total cost PP $
6rugrats Posted April 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Personally, I would switch the Trail of the Ancients Tour for Dr. Poole's whale/dolphin watching tour. I am surprised that Marc is booking you independently (it appears) for the Huahine tour, as when we went, it had to go through the ship only. I am surprised that Marc is booking you independently (it appears) for the Huahine tour, as when we went, it had to go through the ship only. If he has enough people Marc always books independent cruisers. In fact he has told Pia that unless she can take all his spots he will continue to do so. CelticMutt Posted April 5, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted April 5, 2015 We actually booked The Trail of The Ancients through the ship. I tried to get it myself but they referred me back to the ship. I'm a bit of a history/ anthropology buff so this excursion particuarly appealed to me. Besides, it gets pretty high marks in and of itself as well. Emdee Posted April 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2015 You will really enjoy all of Mark Eddowes talks. Make sure you don't miss them!
ducklite Posted April 5, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2015 I would skip the 4x4 tour and do both the Trail of the Ancients and Dr. Poole's tour. Both were excellent and fascinating!
Cruising Librarian Posted April 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2015 I would suggest a morning or afternoon at the motu that the PG leases/rents in Bora Bora. Drinks and snacks available but no loungers or restrooms. However, the view of the island from the motu is fabulous-one of the best on the trip IMHO.
