Boyfriend wants to drink... where can I get the most bang for my buck?

Hi all, looking for a place to get the most bang for my buck if we wanted to go some place to just relax and drink. I looked at the Bacardi tour but after looking at some posts here I am not so sure if that is the best way to go. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?

Trying to figure out the same for after shopping and dinner as my cruise is in port 3-10. I found this list of 15 best cheap drinking places.

El Batey looks like a cool place to go and according to Google, only about a 15 minute walk from the port.
