Fortune House, Miami Downtown Stay???

Hello. I was wondering if anyone stayed at Fortune House in downtown Miami before a cruise? Is it nice? We are getting into FLL about 7:30 the night before and just need a place to sleep and then off to the port, or if we would be better off staying at a hotel in Dania and then taking Larry's Limo the morning of our cruise to POM.

I think the hotel is a crapshoot. What about another hotel downtown? The Hampton Inn for one. Restaurants serve pretty late downtown. You could easily get dinner at 10PM. I think a couple of places in Mary Brickell serve as late as 2AM.

Not many people who post mention this hotel.

I would look at reviews on tripadvisor.

I've stayed at both the Hampton Inn and at Fortune House. When I stayed at Fortune House there were 6 in our group and the two bedroom condo that we got served us nicely. We were also there for two days and made use of the washer and dryer. Fortune House has a lobby that resembles most hotel lobbies, but really no other on site restaurants or amenities. They did have a very nice pool and Jacuzzi. The accommodations at Fortune House are privately owned condos so you need to hope that you get one that has been kept in good conditions. If you just need a place to sleep for one night, you would be better off at the Hampton Inn.
