Taxi fare from cruise port to miami airport

I only have one wife (so far). Fortunately she doesn't pack 6 suitcases.

We'll have 3 bags that we'll check on the airplane and the rest are carry ons.

Are there lots of van taxis, or are they mostly cars?

Do they cost the same flat rate, or are they more?

There are vans but from a hotel sometimes it takes a while for one to show up.

The vans are the same price as well.

What I now do in cities to prevent being scammed is if we know in advance that we will need a taxi to get from point A to point B then I look up the directions ahead of time and then print them out. When I get into the taxi and provide the location we want to go to I ask how we will be getting there and if it differs much from the route that I had printed off I will ask why we are not going the more direct way.
