15 day in France. Trips to Southampton from Barcelona in Sept and back in Oct

The two sailings will include one six and one seven night Iberian Peninsula itinerary. The six night itinerary will depart Barcelona, Spain on September 20, 2015 and arrive in Southampton on September 26th. The Norwegian Epic will call in Cartagena, Spain; Granada (Malaga), Spain; and Lisbon, Portugal.

 

The seven night sailing, which will depart Southampton on October 11, 2015, will call in Vigo, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Granada (Malaga) and Cartagena, Spain. The ship will disembark in Barcelona on October 18th.

 

Interesting they say general refurb and minor repairs! As opposed to routine maintenance. I wonder what's broke. Thinking the stabiliser incident?

Why would they let that ship go anywhere near a French shipyard :confused: Lets hope there are no fires this time around. :eek:

Because it was built there.. Probably a bit like a cars warranty you return to the manufacturer premises to have it fixed

Wouldn't be surprised if when it gets to Southampton in September that a lot of the crew fly out to join Escape in Germany with a new crew joining for return trip to Barcelona.

Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that Norwegian Epic has added two sailings to and from Southampton, England in 2015, marking the first time that the ship has visited the port since the inaugural celebration in June 2010.

Norwegian Epic, named “Best Ship for Sea Days” by Cruise Critic and “Best Overall Cruise Ship” by the readers of Travel Weekly two years in a row, will sail one six- and one seven-night Iberian Peninsula itinerary. The ship’s six-night sailing will depart Barcelona on September 20, 2015 and arrive in Southampton on September 26, 2015, with ports of call including Cartagena, Spain; Granada (Malaga), Spain; and Lisbon, Portugal.

Following a 15-day dry dock in France, Norwegian Epic will embark on a seven-night Iberian Peninsula cruise from Southampton to Barcelona on October 11, 2015. The ship will visit ports of call including Vigo, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Granada (Malaga) and Cartagena, Spain.

What is this thread about? I dont see anything about the Epic going into dry dock.

NCL have announced that Epic is going into dry dock in France in Sept/Oct 2015.

As a result all the itineraries around that time are changing. Some cancelled, some new ones to Southampton.

In December numerous reports of a malfunctioning stabiliser caused a temp list.

I thought NCL was crazy when I heard they were sending it back to France for dry dock. I would've thought they had learned their lesson when they took delivery of her.

Hopefully this time around STX France will not mess it up since they'll have the new Oasis ship to burn if they need more work. :eek:

There are only a handful of dry docks in Europe that can accommodate Epic. I'm assuming that, given her western med itineraries, her close proximity to St. Nazaire over Hamburg was an important factor. Her stabilizers were supplied by Sperry Marine, which is based in the UK, so it doesn't really matter.
