bubbachief Posted May 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2016 We are on cruises leaving from Sydney on both 4/3/2017 and 4/20/2017 . Will spend the week in-between in Sydney. We are planning on renting a car and spending 4/17-4/19 in the Blue Mountains. Since Easter is 4/16, will that following week be a big time for people to be on holiday? In the US, many schools are on Spring Break about that time and people go on holiday. Already have hotels booked in Sydney for that period, just wondering if the Blue Mountain area will be busy during that time right after Easter and if we should be looking for a hotel now? MadWoofter Posted May 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) Hi bubbachief, yes Easter is a busy period for people going away for the long weekend, and although you will be there after the long weekend, it is also school holidays at that time, and a perfect time of year to visit the mountains. I'd recommend pre-booking accommodation if you can. Edited May 24, 2016 by MadWoofter
Rare MMDown Under Posted May 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Easter Monday, 17th April, 2017 will be a public holiday (a four day long weekend for many), plus school holidays, so a busy time.
CupcakeSusie Posted May 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Easter Monday, 17th April, 2017 will be a public holiday (a four day long weekend for many), plus school holidays, so a busy time. There is also a Christian Easter convention in Katoomba at that time so accommodation might be scarce if you wait for too much longer.
buchhalm Posted May 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Busy busy busy. But NICE. Defianately book ahead. Chose a fully flexible rate that let's you cancel if need be. A bit more expensive, sure, but you can cancel if need be. The larger hotels that are members of a chain areally usually a good bet. bubbachief Posted May 26, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Thanks for all the suggestions. We booked a B&B in Leura and are looking forward to spending a few days in the Blue Mountains. Long ways off, but now it's taken care of.
