Compare snorkeling - Grand Cayman or Cozumel???

We are looking into planning a cruise. And, can plan to snorkel at either of these locations.

Can anyone here compare? Which sights have more coral and plants and sea life?

To be honest, after prev. snorkeling at the Reef Preserve at Puerto Morelos... from the pictures and info that I am seeing, this does not seem to be as amazing, and I want to have realistic expectations.

I am afraid that the sights visited at Cozumel are deeper water, with the reef(s) like 30 feet down?

I greatly appreciate any input.

Grand Cayman, no doubt. Check posts for Eden Rock, perhaps a total of a half mile walk from the ship. Dive shop will rent gear and lockers. No fee for using their access ladder.

The shore snorkeling in Cayman is okay, but not spectacular. You're right downtown, and it's convenient if you just want to snorkel on your own. Take an excursion out to the better reefs if you want spectacular.

We could plan a snorkel tour to the better reefs... No problem!

And, it seems like the swim out to Eden Rock might be a little much. (not getting any younger!)

Can anybody compare the locaitons/reefs of these two ports?

Snorkeling at Coz would free up time on Cayman for Seven Mile Beach.

I am just not sure, especially hearing that some of the reef sites at Cozumel might be deeper... So you are viewing from farther above?

We MUCH prefer Grand Cayman snorkeling to Cozumel. In fact, we will always choose a snorkel day in GC and we don't even snorkel in Cozumel any longer.

I would explore Cozumel, we really liked it. There is lots of shopping downtown and many beach clubs to go to and relax.

Has anyone done the snorkeling and water park in Cozumel
