My wife and I are going on the Liberty of the Seas in September, 2015 for our 25th wedding anniversary. I would consider us new to cruising since the last cruise and only other cruise we were on was for our honeymoon. In fact the ship we were on, the Galileo sunk some time ago. I am sure it is a totaly different experience. What should we expect?

We just cruised out of Bayonne on the Explorer to Bermuda. By next September, the new terminal at Bayonne should be finished so it will be easier to get onboard the Liberty. The Liberty is a Freedom class ship so it is a bit (90' I believe) longer than the Voyager class ship. It has a Flow Rider, Rock Wall, Promenade (shops, pub), Mini Golf, Johnny Rockets, sports courts. There will be a Library onboard, and RC Online (computers) unless you bring your own. There is also a casino onboard.

Having a balcony is wonderful and you will enjoy it allot!

Bermuda is a beautiful island, although not cheap. Docking at Kings Wharf you will either have a view of the dockyard or the sea side (depending on what side of the ship your cabin is and which way the ship docks). There are a variety of options for transportion at the dockyard....a ferry, bus, taxi's for hire. There is limited shopping at the dockyard also. Not a big tourist trap, but a few things.

If you visit the Ports of Call board, there will be allot of ideas as to beaches, tours, etc. you can take.

Five day cruise will offer you one formal night. Basically they cram all the 7 day options into a 5 day cruise. If you have any questions...ask away....

Love Bermuda -

You will be far out into the Atlantic. You may want to prepare for a bit more "wave action" than other Caribbean trips.

Air and Water temps are still great in September!! We would love to join you, but Adventure is calling us that week.

Congrats! We're on the same cruise and on September 30 1979 we too went on a cruise on our honeymoon too! We went on the Volendam from NY to Bermuda and as it was a Sunday sailing, it was very popular with honeymoon couples. All 4 couples at our table in the dining room were on their honeymoon and we all shared the same wedding date and same song! Looking forward to having a great time!

Others have covered what you can expect from the ship, but the one thing that a lot of people didn't plan for on our last cruise to Bermuda was just how late into the Fall you can actually swim.

Our last trip there was in the first half of October and the water was still great for swimming. If you're beach people, then I'd highly, highly recommend going to Horseshoe Bay.
