TxnAquarian Posted December 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2005 I noticed that the Navigator arrived in LA today from its 26-day Pacific cruise. It looks as if the next cruise, a Panama Canal transit, is not leaving until tomorrow. Does anyone know why the ship is staying in LA (San Pedro) overnight? Anything special happening? -Michael
Leejnd4 Posted December 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2005 Apparently there was supposed to be a one-night charter, but it got cancelled. There were only three cabins with passengers in them last night -- people doing back-to-backs. We had brunch with one of them yesterday, she said they were originally going to stay at a hotel for the night, until the charter cancelled. I'm told that a large contingent of staff went to Disneyland and a Laker's game -- we were wondering how they all got Lakers' tickets, and speculating if it was perhaps the Lakers who cancelled their charter after they heard about the Vikings charter debacle! JPR Posted December 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Lakers tickets are no big deal these days, particularly when they are playing mediocre teams (as they did that night). The Lakers missed the playoffs last season and are headed in the same direction this season. The L.A. Kings ice hockey team has a much higher percentage of sellouts; they're tied for first place in their division.
ChatKat in Ca. Posted December 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2005 LeeAnne - the crew was going to Staples without tickets. They were hoping to get them when they got there....
